David Whitfield's involvement with LED started in 2008 when he founded the successful Australian LED company, enLighten Australia. He has won national and international awards for lighting design. IoL builds on David’s deep knowledge of intelligent lighting technology to deliver ‘Occupancy Intelligence for the Built Environment’ (OIBE) in ground breaking ways to building owners and users.
In 2012, David founded Geepers, the first new address system for physical locations. Geepers is a partialy owned subsidiary of IoL Technologies Pte Ltd and provides geo-physical address protocols for the digital world changing the way the world will manage locations, whether fixed or mobile. Geepers can accurately map any object and has the potential to become the world’s largest asset management tool for plant, equipment and people, whether fixed or mobile. Geepers 3 dimensional location and tracking capabilities are being embedded into IoL Technologies advance LED lighting to facilitate navigation inside of buildings, infrastructure, car parks and other urban spaces.
IoL Technologies will be a driver of the global LED lighting revolution using existing wiring to create a new communications infrastructure, LightNet, that will deliver intelligence and big data on our built environments – a true enabler to the ‘Internet of Things’.
IoL Technologies Pte Ltd (IoL) builds independently verified, highly efficient LED lights.
IoL’s lights can talk to each other within commercial buildings, industrial buildings and urban spaces or across the world creating a new low cost global communications grid, LightNet, by piggybacking on existing electrical wiring.
IoL is embedding its own award winning 3 dimensional location and addressing system within each light to obtain locational accuracies within 5cm.
IoL has established an international presence in Singapore and SE Asia and is expanding into other countries.
